Anatha Shishu Nivasa at Basavanagudi, an NGO that cares for orphans in Bangalore, India, has partnered with Asha Jeevan at Huli Mavu, also in Bangalore, an old age home, to bring kids and seniors together in a seemingly improbable project.

The idea was the brainchild of Nagendra K.S., who was taking a personal developmement course by Landmark Education that required him to take on a community project. In the course, Nagendra decided that he was going to be a source of innovation, leadership and happiness in his community. Inspired by the happiness he was going to be creating, he named his project Ullasa, which means ‘joy’ in English.
